Have you Noticed?

Has anyone noticed the sudden surge of "Green" specials on TV or on shows?? It just seems like lately there is A LOT of focus on Green issues lately.

I mean, even The Biggest Loser is going green in their episode next week where they won't be using their treadmills or elliptical machines. Although its only one episode I'm impressed and will let you know how well they do. (Side Note: They drink out of plastic bottles CONSTANTLY on the show so we'll see what they do about that!)

I can say that I'm glad we are educating people on other options about green issues besides just "use a CFL light bulb" (which as most of you know is now the not so green bulb to use anymore due to the mercury in them).

Last week there was an Americas Next Top Model ( no comments on this please!) show where they were getting their pictures taken with things that can be recycled. All the models posed in front of their "recyclable objects" like plastic, cardboard, tires, oil or newspapers. While it was nice of them to show that, there was NO info throughout the whole show about how to actually do the recycling. IT was more like, Pose in front of this and that was it. Something tells me they didn't recycle the stuff the models posed around either.
The show is also set in an environmentally friendly house, according to the show anyway. Which is sort of ironic since there is a huge pool outside that is all lit up at night and they drink out of plastic bottles and have EVERY light on inside. Maybe it was made out of recycled materials? I haven't exactly paid that much attention to it.
Yes, I watch the show OK!?? Just not every week.

I'm glad that TV is stepping in to "shed some light" on this issue. I'm hoping that they provide options though rather then just telling the world facts about global warming and how polar bears are dying at the North Pole.
Let's teach people HOW to keep that from happening.
Its just like they say, "Give a man a fish and he'll eat it; Teach a man how to fish and he'll eat for life."
