Earth Hour 2009

Earth Hour 2009 is this weekend on Saturday at 8:30 pm.
Earth Hour is so easy---you don't even have to be a big green type person to do this! (Rachel, this is for you chicka!)

All you have to do on Saturday at 8:30pm is just turn all your lights off and use as little electricity as possible for an hour. Just one hour. Great time to have candle night!

Earth Hour is to show the world, the government any everyone that we believe in our Earth and Global Warming is an issue. Its a statement and well, it doesn't hurt to not use electricity for one hour--especially if 1 Billion people do it like Earth Hour hopes!

This started in Australia and over 58% of Adults participated--I think us American's can show the Aussies that we can do it too!!

So this Saturday settle down, grab some candles a book and make it dark for a hour. Just take a moment to sit and think about how much we consume. Its only after all, one hour.

Thanks for promoting Earth Hour! Another way you can recruit people to the cause is by creating a Earth Hour group on Commit21.com. Simply create a group about one action that you will commit to do for Earth Hour and recruit your friends, family, and co-workers to get involved in that action as well. When it comes to climate change, simple actions can make huge differences and Commit21 leverages social media to influence networks of friends, family, and co-workers. Check it out at www.commit21.com

Um, bummer...I was in Seattle for Earth Hour...I wasn't even in my hotel room at 8:30...we were driving home from dinner. But when I got to the hotel I turned ALL the lights out but one and just used my computer so that the little ones would go to sleep. I think even I was asleep by 9:30!
