Global Daughter

Ok I've been meaning to write about this OH for about 3 weeks and I've just been SO lazy about posting. Forgive me readers! Hopefully I'll overwhelm you with posts soon enough.

So my buddy Brianna's sister, Erika, runs a business with her friend Erin called Global Daughter.
Basically they run a Fair Trade business with products from Nepal (just Nepal currently, but soon to grow!). What I love the most is that they not only offer offer items that are fair trade, but all the products are made by women! Oh, and lets not forget they ensure that all products are made from sustainable and renewable sources.

Their products are AWESOME and I was one of the lucky people to be invited to one of their parties that showcased their products. Eventually they will launch a website that will sell their items, but right now to get the word out they are having parties! They have been adding photos to Facebook and their Blog showing the items only making it incredibly hard for me to not spend more money!! UGH!! I can justify these purchases because its sustainable and was made by hand by a women who will actually get paid a fair wage for her hard work!

I bought this purse that is made by hand, of course, and made out of hemp and raw silk. Its very cute and has really been a conversation piece for me to be able to tell others about their company. PLUS the best part is this purse was NOT very expensive. I was honestly shocked at how cheap their items were for sustainable and handmade things. (cheap really isn't a good word sorry) But seriously, I don't know if you've shopped for organic or handmade items before, but they are NOT cheap. (Erin & Erika, I hope you aren't mad that I stole this picture from your blog! Consider this free advertising??)

Anyway, I'll be sure to post when they officially launch their website, but for now if you want to learn more about their venture (or maybe I should say adventure!!) please check out their blog HERE. These girls just make you want to go out and change the world! And I just found out today they have a a reusable bag that is SOOO CUTE!! I'll post a picture of that once I get those!

Wow! Thanks so much for the support. I am so happy that you found the products as beautiful as we do! Meeting and interacting with the women that make our handicrafts is the greatest "adventure" in the world. A project within a business. Keep up the lovely blog! I enjoy reading.
