Some Revelations

Going thru this no spend challenge I've learned a lot about my spending habits in the 2 weeks we've been doing this.
You all know of course that the grocery store is my biggest vice. Its the ONE place I probably will always struggle with. I think like most women we seem to have this urge to stock up and have a lot in our pantries. I don't know if we think we need to always prepare for another Y2K or if its just part of our female nature to hoard up food or supplies.

While I sit here all smug that I don't throw away my money on silly stuff like fancy cars or pretty clothes, but I do need to be sure what I am spending my money on its truly a reflection of my heart.
19 “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. 21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matt 6:19-24 NLT
I'm reminded in this scripture that just because I might not spend on "things" that might rust I need to seriously look at where my finances are going in the first place.
Is my money funding the Kingdom or is it just working for me?
I do think making the investment of sponsoring a child thru World Vision is a great investment and sending my son to a private school is another worthy investment, but what else can I do?

Can I fund other ministries that have the same passions I do?
Honestly the ideas are endless and as I sit here avoiding working out a Budget I look at my bills and think about what I could really do with that money if I didn't have other responsibilities. Darn that power bill! ;)
BUT while I might have bills I can't avoid like my power bill there are things I could to cut back so I DO have extra left over to expand the issues I see fit with not only a check, but also with my time.

there is so so so much more I could do that I'm either avoiding or just plain not realizing I could make a change in. I'm going to go crunch some numbers now. ...OH that budget!
